amen on everyone’s sentiments! it is almost beyond belief that some people so blatantly game the system for such shallow goals

the “occupy” movements that erupted all over the world and the Arab Spring speak to how the vast majority of us have been manipulated by the “few”

it’s a shame that it gets to that point – maybe one reason i am not rich is that i can’t think in those terms. it seems that once a certain level of wealth was reached a person would be able to help others, but clearly that is not the case

it made me very sad the other night to see what people at Foxconn get paid – something like 31 cents an hour! the Chairman of Foxconn just said he sees his employees as animals!

I also don’t think it’s about piracy at all. It’s really about wealthy and powerful people trying to maintain their positition in a changing world, without changing themselves. In the long run I don’t see how they can suceed, but in the process they can cause a lot of trouble, and cost a lot of people a lot of money and hardship. And they’re messing up the political processes that could be doing something useful. The same thing has been hapening with legislation in the UK – we need changes, but they’re being sideswiped by people like Murdoch, into something we don’t need, so everything is delayed, which is not good for anyone really, I doubt it is really any good for the people doing it.

An earlier RM — Robert Maxwell — turned out to be an outright crook, but he’d kept the reports of his suspected crimes from being published by threatening libel actions.

These things make it much easier to stifle reports of wrongdoing, and Rupert Murdoch’s alleged activities in the UK are something that he might well not want visible from the USA.

Yes, Felicia did do Red, and has even recently had a decent role on Eureka for Syfy, but it was her own streaming web show that got her the attention to move her career forward.

Wowie Zowie! I thought the net forces that went on yesterday were just inspiring as all get out.
Even made a blog post about it on my shiny new blog

I don’t think for a second that this SOPA/PIPA stuff is about piracy. These big studio big-wigs are afraid that they are loosing their power. I mean -for example- look at a wonderful little gal like Felicia Day. Oohh la she once got a few extra roles on Buffy, but then used the power of the Internet, and a rag-tag group of friends to launch the inspiring, niche-targeted and popular Guild series without any of these old school big-studio power-hungry fat-cats giving the go-ahead. She made her career by busting-butt and having the Internet. (it was not those tiny supporting roles that made it for her). How could the fat-cats not be terrified. I really want to see their greedy old world view crumble. Rupert Murdoch and his entourage are one of my definitions of evil itself, and the MPAA has not been a friend of the filmmaker in ages, and the RIAA has raped musical artists for generations. I’d love to see the fat-cat middle-men in the arts go the way of the teletype machine.
