what do you think of the new Twitter?

i am not a big technology nut. i know some people think me as such and i am deeply flattered but it just ain’t so. i admire people that can troubleshoot and do advanced coding however, i get impatient and frustrated easily. now what i do love is the creativity that computers allow. i love doing flash (including actionscripting – sometimes 1000s of lines of code) because of the end product and i loved doing blender when i was in it a lot. you can get so lost just messing with lighting and materials

and i like blogging and messing with social networking but not because of the technology, but because it is an interesting way to communicate with many others. and anytime you get bored, offended, or just need to step away – one click does that!

twitter is a really great tool for me because it let’s me learn about so many things i simply would never ever stumble upon with just searches. it also lets me know of the millions of dollars i could make with the Trump networks, acai berries, and teeth whitening! just imagine how rich you would be if you sold acai berries through the Trump network and then the upshot to your teeth whitening business for all the people with acai berry stained teeth!

okay, so there are lots of really dumb things on Twitter too! like “get 100 followers” and “make money from your tweets”! who cares! just keep me informed of Justin Bieber’s every move and i am happy =D

so when Twitter launched their new media integrated page (hey, like SL’s media on a prim, but diff) i thought i’d give it a shot

holy cow, if i was easily distracted before, this is an OCD person’s worst nightmare!

so what are your thoughts? have you used it for the new image and video features yet?

  1. This is something that I always seem to miss. Twitter has changed a few times since I joined as well as my usage of Twitter, from tweeting alot throughout my degree (which is in Virtual Reality Design :p) to then very little while I was teaching IT in ‘high school’ to now trying to tweet more in my current job.

Getting back to the point, I am one of thoes people who tend not to notice these chnages to Twitters web site at all as all my tweets tend to come from some sort of application, like TweetDeck.

  2. I wish I could comment….but guess what..I don’t have the new rollout yet! It’s still ‘going out’ and I’m not one of them that has it yet. Dang. I like to check out new things.

  3. it maintains the “flavour” of twitter but is more robust and lumps things together, such as your direct messages (threaded?)

same info, just presented in a bit more interconnected way and it’s not three panels wide, just two if you expand it out. so two panels for Home and two panels for Profile
