with Jacek steeping away from Imprudence in a week, what does the future of Imprudence hold? a week ago she posted a call for a project organizer and developers but there have been no responses to that post yet often a project is held together by one key individual and it can be difficult for its vision [...]

Jacek from Imprudence bids us adieu
wow, i definately live under a prim rock because i missed this significant announcement made a few days ago about Jacek from Imprudence Moving On if you use Imprudence, take a moment to go to her post and thank her, wish her well, cry, smack her, or whatever moves you Imprudence has enhanced my enjoyment of [...]
day 12 of Imprudence woes no more
as reported on day 10 on the Computer Reformat and Pray (C.R.A.P.) Imprudence issue, success was achieved and the MS Visual C++ Redistributables seemed to be the culprits (thanks for solving that Tranquility!) =) i also decided to keep this machine uber clean and avoid as many programs as i could. those included not installing Chrome [...]
day 10 of Imprudence woes
ha! no woes today! =) on day 8 of my woes i decided to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything. i couldn’t think of anything more to do and some really clever folks offered loads of help here on the blog. the virtual world community is one that continues to be filled with genuinely helpful and tolerant [...]
SSE vs. non-SSE Imprudence 1.3.2
i almost posted this last night but did not want to confuse the issue about malware. Micheil Merlin asked if i noticed a frame rate difference between Imprudence 1.3.2 SSE version and the non-SSE version. it’s hard to tell from my precise testing (tongue in cheek) the video below seems somewhat legible for the frame rates and if there is a [...]
Old meets New: Singularity viewer for OpenSim/SL
Review of the relatively new, LL “approved” SINGULARITY viewer for Second Life (and Open Sim). Singularity looks a lot like the old familiar LL viewers, but has TONS of features from other viewers. Welcome back, pie wheel, and hello new cool stuff!
Ener almost abandons Imprudence 1.3.2
i spoke too soon when i declared that Imprudence 1.3.3 was smooth, or so i thought. it looks very nice and all, but that was all based on my stick stuff when i logged in to Enclave Harbour today to plant some ferns i noted that they were not rezzing fully and my Linden grass [...]
Imprudence 1.3.2 is out
the latest non-experimental build of Imprudence is out today and it looks like some great fixes were addressed. especially regarding a specific security vulnerability i look forward to trying this viewer out tonight and , as always, a big round of thanks to the Imprudence team! time to get building! w00t! =)
take a moment to encourage the Imprudence gang
it does take some effort to comment on a blog – you have to put in your name and email (i use Chrome to browse blogs and let is save all my info, that way i just type the first letter of my name and email and it fills it in) and then write something. but your [...]
Kirsten’s S21 viewer in OpenSim
i saw that Kirsten’s S21 viewer has depth-of-field so i thought i’d try it on OpenSim. depth-of-field would dramatically affect the way virtual worlds look and would help “suspend disbelief” as the eLearning people would say but alas, the S21 viewer is too advanced for the current OpenSim and i could not even attach my [...]
past Imprudence downloads
for some reason, the stable build of Imprudence gets all emo on me as does the latest experimental build in looking back to find a build that i know worked (October) i stumbled upon this nice repositiry of all the Imprudence builds since September http://code.google.com/p/imprudence/downloads/list what a great use of Google services! and thank you [...]
integrated viewer & server platform for OpenSim
a little birdie told me (no, not some kooky tweeter person looking for attention) about a new something or other. lol, i don’t really know what it is but the list of its fixes is pretty frigging impressive (maybe a bit too impressive?) – it sounds like a mashup of standalone with i dunno what! [...]
support what you use
it’s easy to take for granted things like OpenSim, OSGrid, and Imprudence. these are things the iliveisl team use and depend on. we can certainly become a bit more regular in donations, even if a small amount just because the core developers are volunteers does not mean they should foot the entire bill. they use [...]
hats off to the Imprudence team
i typically use the Imprudence viewer, probably 96% of the time. the other viewer i use in the 2.0 Second Life one. Imprudence runs very well and i rarely crash (not sure if that is viewer or sim related). by rarely, i may get that logged out but can view IM messages once every 20 times [...]
i speak German – you are a dunkel queso
i downloaded the latest Imprudence build last night and flipped out with the Google Translate chat feature! maybe i missed this before but what a great tool! it took me about 15 minutes to realise that Dream Walker did not have this feature and she thought i was being a smartie pants. being an only [...]
