Sim-on-a-Stick Installer video walkthrough

the Sim-on-a-Stick installer seems to work easily and smoothly. you end up with the same files as the zipped version but use an wizard style installer instead. no need to unzip anything, it does it for you

here’s a video walkthrough of what you can expect. on my XP box i was not prompted to allow access or unblock anything. on some machines you may be presented with these Windows dialogues which warn you that MySQL, Apache, and/or PHP want to run on your machine – allowing access will let sim-on-a-stick start up properly

  3. hello Adam =)

hmm, the avatar should not be locked but you will probably need to create a new shape (open Inventory and pull down New > Shape

the old default Ruth usually needs to be replaced with a new shape and new skin in order to modify it

you are correct, Simona is the estate owner and can not easily be changed, you’d have to build your own version of sim-on-a-stick using Roger Stack’s tutorial

BUT . . . MoWeS is no longer available and you;d have to use something like XAMP

as to friends, you’d need to do Erik’s router hack – SoaS is meant to be a single user, stand-alone deployment of OpenSim

all of your desired changes are probably easiest done by using New World Studios instead of SoaS (this is meant for a personal workshop, a development area, or student use)

    good luck! =)
