i’ve been a big cheerleader for Kitely since they started and plan on using them for my personal island home and we may be checking them out as a optional channel for Enclave Harbour
Kitely is nice for a few reasons in my opinion – first they are cloud-based which is an efficient and modern way to deploy many things. you can even feel a little environmental by using them (it is an environmental choice, yet the environmental impact of cloud services won’t be realised until much greater global adoption – kind of like turning off a light at home, the one light decreases your use of electricity but not of the electricity generated for the grid, when 1,000 people turn off a light for an extended time, then the power generation ramps down . . .)
secondly, Kitely shares their code advancements with OpenSim development – that is very awesome in my book =)
Kitely is growing and improving their offering in significant ways. their latest megaregion and multi-region options are fantastic for many uses – from academic where a school district or university system could have multi-region campus with each school or department having their own region yet still be one large campus to role playing where a 16 sim world could lend itself to insane development and theming
having more offerings complicates matters to an extent. not so much in its use – their interface and work flow from a user perspective is phenomenally well thought out and implemented – but in determining what may be the best for you
i was recently introduced to their discussion forum (which i had no idea existed because i live under a prim in either Enclave Harbour or Sim-on-a-Stick – always head down ya know, nose to the grindstone, and all that baloney!) =p
if you have Kitely questions on anything grid-related (even on where to buy content) i encourage you to check out their forum – Kitely should be here for the long haul and i anticipate steady and solid growth for them

Thank you Ener,
Kitetalk is a new community initiated and managed forum. It is growing fast and it has become one of my regular destinations for interacting with the Kitely community.

If they ever enable hyper-grid, I may build a river landing sim there, mostly as a gateway, point of interest, who knows what else. My sim there would will be a gate to my Araxie River sims. I’m too big of a server nerd to give up that server mojo for my main stuff. Until hyper-grid though, I’ll be meh on Kitely.

I do approve of the cloud though, huge fan of Linode.

@Araxie Longoar “Until hyper-grid…”
Suggested reading is a post about the upcoming HG 2.0 by the HG inventor herself.
Putting HG on a grid that is anymore than non critical social fun would be less than prudent.

Ok Ener, with this latest news I’ve finally done it. I signed up and visited Kitely this week. I explored some cool places and I’ve decided to create a place of my own there once I’ve developed something worthy – at this point my ideas are hazy and too many.

Welcome to Kitely Kimika :-)
One of the nice things abut Kitely is that it makes it very affordable to have a world for each of your ideas. If you prefer keeping your builds private while they are still taking shape then just use the web-based control panel to set those worlds’ access to allow only you to enter them.

Kimika!!! =)
i am the same way – a zillion ideas and not enough time to explore them! that’s why i love sim-on-a-stick and use it so much. like this past weekend, i “thought” i had a great idea fro an educational campus and spent about three hours building it (on a laptop while watching TV) but . . . it turned out blah and i deleted it! but, i’ll try again
like you, i want something worthwhile before i make it public – i figure that as much baloney as i talk on the blog, anything i create that others can see better look pretty interesting! (i’m making a secert cave in one of my island home’s extinct volcano and also making an abandoned WWII bunker . . .) =)
