i have yet to deeply delve into the latest Imprudence, but it seems to be fast and light on my machine (much lighter than the LL viewer)

  3. Hi Ener

Imprudence also supports Aurora sim’s variable region sizes. Take a look this vid from Skidz on a region sized 64 X one SL region. Aurora can handle up to 256 regions in one and it’s not a mega-region hack either. They are just one massive region.

  5. lol, I thought that would grab ya!

I just got Aurora 3 on a standalone cos I wanna biggy land. Well, I want 2 biggy lands. One for sailing and one for a true space region so I can fly amongst the stars. True, really. Aurora has centered gravity too so space stations and asteroid planets should be possible. Those guys are doing something revolutionary with Opensim.

Eat your hearts out Linden Labs!

    haha

P.S. Oh, and it has a new form of Hypergrid called IWC. I am writing up an article about Aurora for my blog so one to watch out for.

  6. so with centered gravity, can you make a spherical world? (btw, Earth is an oblate spheroid)

if so, what would its diameter be? that would be cool as all get out!

  7. well, they did say any shape of region border would be possible but that has not happened yet. It is still alpha software but the team is certainly making some amazing progress so I am following it closely. I will be able to say more soon when I make some sense of my notes.
