hiding prims, water, and more makes building easier

i hide the water in OpenSim regularly for terraforming, building docks, and placing water plants

you can also hide and show various other things like Linden plants, prims, and particles

so rather than trying to look through the smoke of a volcano to adjust a script or position some lava, just hide the particles!

  • ctrl-shift-alt 0 – grass
  • ctrl-shift-alt 1 – normal/simple prims
  • ctrl-shift-alt 2 – phantom prims and alpha particles
  • ctrl-shift-alt 3 – trees
  • ctrl-shift-alt 5 – land
  • ctrl-shift-alt 6 – sky
  • ctrl-shift-alt 7 – water
  • ctrl-shift-alt 9 – all prims

there’s a full list in the viewer under Advanced > Rendering > Types

Simona finds a whale

i have always been a bit of a plant snob, well in Second Life anyway, and decided to see if i could become a better person and embrace default plants. i am building a region to be my home in Kitely and decided to only use default plants. it is supposed to be a tropical island and have dense jungle

i’m doing this build on sim-on-a-stick and then will upload it to Kitely. i was flattered to have Pathfinder give me a shout out on Flickr: “You always post such interesting pics of your regions. I’d love to visit them firsthand.” (thanks for the kind words Pathfinder) =)

he also linked to a real pic of him in Antarctica next to a real whale skeleton – pretty cool stuff! *thumbs up*

  1. Great to see the progress you’re making Ener :-)

I look forward to seeing what you’ll upload to Kitely once we start supporting bigger worlds as well.
