let’s start with the back story and then two suggested ways to use this region
Hackers Sleepless City, referred to as Hax Nuit by some, was a largely unregulated densely populated area. much like Kowloon Walled City, this became an enclave after the French abandoned their colonial efforts of the 1800s
triads ruled this 16 acre city for years until the surrounding territory, Enclave Harbour, reclaimed it. after taking over this land, tenants were evicted and the city is slated for demolition
today it stands empty but still holds a few treasures
a band of modern day pirates stole an Enclave Harbour municipal helicopter and flew out to this remote island hoping to plunder its treasures. it would be hours before the authorities knew where they went
unfortunately, for the pirates, they crashed the helicopter upon landing and knew it was just a matter of time before they were rounded up and sent to prison. however, they had time to plunder some valuable items and hide them for later retrieval
you are a treasure hunter and also smarter than the clumsy pirates. you arrived on the south side of the Hax Nuit by hovercraft and literally under the radar. all you need are a few clues and you’ll be rich!
the first thing you check out is the downed helicopter. you also note that an Enclave Harbour marine patrol boat is docked on the north side of the island – are the authorities here or did they leave that boat when they arrested the pirates . . .

i can think of two ways to use this sim, but there may be others
one way is as a role playing backdrop. bring your crew and your gear, and run amok using the cityscape and it’s catacomb of apartments, shop level mazes, and underground labyrinths as your gaming environment
as a role playing backdrop, you make your own rules
if others are visiting, don’t assume they want to join in, but you can always ask. some people may be here just to explore
the second way is as an exploration and skill game. perfect for single players who likes to explore and find hidden treasure and maybe test their skills in mazes
as an exploration game, you have the following items of value hidden throughout the city:
- Trumpet of Night
- Wheel of Harmony (ivory and ebony yin yang)
- Bucket of Gold Coins
- Chest of Gold Coins
- Zhanmadao
- Silver Serpent Scepter Mace
- Floating Tsuba of Luck
- Urn of Hax
- Yifan Zhang gold statue – a most valued treasure taken from the cat shrine
you also have several mazes of varying difficulty to time yourself in solving. mouselook works well for the mazes and the mazes are in the street level shops. a map to the mazes will be available soon and it’s up to you if you want to use them. each building is numbered to help you keep them all straight and the map will rate their difficulty – they are all different
in the old wooden market, you can find a windproof candle lantern to help light your way in the city
above the shops are the city’s apartments – some are open and others are closed and offer additional areas to explore and maybe find some items of value. you might be able to tell which ones are open by looking at their windows from the outside . . .
in the underground portion, you’ll find a series of labyrinth’s to explore. a map will also be made available to help navigate this confusing array of tunnels
there are six entrances to the underground and the western entrance has a miner’s carbide lamp you can use to help light your way
Hax Nuit is located on the Kitely grid - 黑客不夜城 – Hackers Sleepless City
here’s the underground map and the shop-level maze map is under development =)
valuable items in yellow glow and you can see it full-sized here

他妈的 Sorry,I said 噢 twice, sounds a bit silly now, and I don’t seem to have an edit option.

Hi Ener,
I suggest you add mention of this post to the Kitely forums in the Worlds section ( http://forums.kitely.com/viewforum.php?f=8 ) and/or the Media Mentions section ( http://forums.kitely.com/viewforum.php?f=13 ).

thanks Keith, it is progress and nearing completion. i’d like to add another dozen “treasure” items and call it good
i tried scripting some Indiana Jones style arrows but OS physics didn’t like them =(
i had to temporarily hide the edit option – that’s a third-party WordPress plugin that has not updated since the last WP update and it broke. if they update it, then it will be turned on (it was causing other errors)
good tip Ilan! =) thanks!

I think it’s OK without the arrows, and probably more intriguing now there’s a map, but a detailed map might be a spoiler.

thanks Keith – thinking about what you said, i now have a second underground map with the paths marked clearly
thanks!

Most excellent Ener. The map above works for me. Ambiguity is a plus really, general landmarks seem to be all that’s needed. Found the carbide lamp & candle (sneeky).

Oh Ener! Looks GREAT!!! Can I add ya to the Fyorp “hub” … not much of a hub at the moment .. almost literally at the beginning of conception so I am hoping for lots of input.

“Run” by my RP “account” Buni Chuku. I’m going to work on her backstory here soon. And consider a possible headquarters on one of my own sims. Just not sure exactly how I want it to look. Some sort of island …. a place to ferry in and ferry out …. anyway Fyorp will be a good place to start .. I hope .. and maybe even get people travelling from grid to grid role playing.
Hope to see ya there!!

Excellent Moongold – thanks on the pic and thanks for checking it out =)
Sure Crystal – a single OSgrid or Kitely (once hyper grid is done) would work well for a hub place
once hypergrid is tight, it will open up more open sim possibilities :)
