don’t blink or Linda Kellie will make a zillion things

i love Linda Kellie, her spirit and generosity are the epitome of a giving person and of a deeply participating community member. beyond her generous nature, she is actually talented!

that talented bit is critical because when i was in Second Life there were a lot of people making free stuff, but there was also a lot of crappy free stuff!

i have not been over to Linda’s website in a while (maybe a month or more) and popped over this morning and holy kaw! it looks like she has easily doubled the content she offers from the last time i was there!

in OpenSim i had relegated myself to having one pair of underpants, one skirt, one hair style, one pair of boots – basically just one “Ener” outfit – i never thought i’d consider collecting some outfits like i had in Second Life but visiting Linda’s site today has gotten me excited about having a wardrobe once again!

if you haven’t been to her site, or haven’t been in a while, check it out and while your there drop her a donation! =)

these would look great on my Chrysler building!

look! it's a real life replica of Ener Hax!

  1. Linda is a great person that makes great stuff for Opensim Users. I would see her as a inspiration to do great things near the future!, when I learn more about prims and sculpting, I would build things for Opensim and for Inworldz too!. Congratulations Linda keep working!. Anyway I help with support on my blog and I promise to add more every time I learn more about opensim and different grids.

  2. AWWwwwww. This was so sweet. Thank you Ener for the blog and for another donation. I’m so overwhelmed by how nice everyone is and by the nice things that are said.
There are so many people out there contributing to OpenSim and to Virtual Worlds in general that I am just glad to be a tiny part of that community.

@Xpontaneus thanks for the sweet comments as well.

  3. She is amazing, I do love her generosity. Finding people like her is very hard in today’s world, everyone wants more than thanks for their hard work. I know very few people like Linda, but I am glad to know her.

  4. Possibly *the* most important thing to a virtual world(aside from the platform itself) is content.

    Without it, people won’t come.

Bill Gates wrote an article in 1996. Keep in mind this was pre google, pre self publishing, and he sees online ads.

This is written 16 years ago. Nearly everything is this article could apply to Opensim.

“But to be successful online, a magazine can’t just take what it has in print and move it to the electronic realm. There isn’t enough depth or interactivity in print content to overcome the drawbacks of the online medium.”

Opensims day will come. It just might get there faster thanks to content creators such as Linda Kellie.

  5. What else is there to add? Linda’s work and generousity has become the foundations of many sims.

  6. I’m really honored to have people say such nice things. I really don’t look at this as me doing anything for the community. I look at it as sharing. I can’t even tell you how many wonderful items I have picked up for free in OSGrid and on the hypergrid. To me this is like a bartering system. We all share creations, scripting, ideas, land or whatever we have to offer and it just works that way.
And I probably will get to a zillion things because I have no life so I can sit in my pjs all day and create stuff (shhh don’t tell anyone). It’s not a perfect life but it works for me :)
Thanks everyone for being so nice to me. You all have no idea how much it means to me.

  7. Oh, those corner bricks are handy Linda. I just made textures for Georgian buildings. The corner sculpts will look a lot better, thanks!

  8. I’ve been having lots of fun with the lovely Castle oar and the Tiki Island Oars that Linda made. And every outfit that my silly little faeries are wearing were all made by Linda. Linda rocks!

  9. All was already said, Linda is a example for All, not only Open Sim users but also Real world ones!

  10. And thanks to Linda from all the educators using OpenSim. The fact that items can be traced to a (very generous) real life person makes a big difference.
