Nickola Martynov is an excellent builder (Burning Life and SL6B) and touched us deeply when she said she had been in Reaction Grid and offered to do any lifting and carrying we may need. that in itself is pretty awesome and speaks to her passion about virtual worlds
she went a step further and came up with a really great concept. she showed us a story about a place where an abandoned quarry might be turned into a huge complex
It’s a luxury resort under construction in China. It uses geothermal technology for heat and power. There is a mix of business and leisure facilities underwater, on the water and in the parkland at ground level.
she went on to say this about the neat concept:
I was thinking about Subquark’s intention to work with college & university level students in RG. And if there is one message I’d like to send to young people, it’s to appreciate the natural beauty of our planet. So creating virtual spaces that are “seamlessly” integrated into the environment would be one way of sending that message.
wow! she had no idea that Subquark already had a “green” concept drafted to create virtual meeting venues that exhibit real world practices to make meetings more environmental. but her concept takes the next step. rather than just show that using water pitchers and glasses instead of bottled water, she kicked it up a huge notch! (yay for those clever Canadians)
we can place subbie’s concept inside her build which will be in an abandoned rock quarry!
way to go Nickie! (lol, i have goosebumps)
